Running Older Apps in Windows 2000/XP/2003 Last Updated: 04 Nov 2003 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ *** PLEASE NOTE: Link(s), If Provided, May Be Wrapped *** There are some applications which will not install or run under Windows 2000, because they believe that it is an unsupported OS. By making use of Win2K's "Application Compatibility" technology, you may be able to run many of these applications or utilities. Not everything will work, of course, because some apps perform functions which are not permitted or supported in 2000 vs Windows 95/98/ME. Windows XP/2003 provide a new level of compatibility options for developers and administrators over that offered by Windows 2000. In addition to the modes available in 2000, there are tools for creating your own compatibility code for custom applications, and deploying it to your systems. UTILITIES • APPCOMPAT ..............
